Captagon is a synthetic amphetamine-type stimulant that has been illegally produced in southern Europe.
It has reached the Middle East after being trafficked there through Turkey.
The pills were found in the pockets of the terrorists who were killed on Israeli soil.
Known as “cocaine for the poor”, the drug will have made the terrorists calm as they carried out their horrendous attack in Israel.
The drug became well-known in 2015 when it was discovered that ISIS soldiers were using it in their terror operations.
It has been reported that has become a popular area for the drug.
Medical professionals in Syria and Lebanon say the drug is also popular among civilians in warzones who are struggling to cope with their dire conditions.
The Times reported in 2021 that the Captagon industry had been boosted by people with close links to Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, including some of his family members.
It has also been reported that Captagon exports from Syria alone reached a minimum of $3.5 billion in 2020.
In Saudi Arabia, estimates suggest consumption of Captagon passes 600 million pills every year.
There were also reports of extreme violence, with militants murdering children, music festival goers and elderly citizens.

Israel’s defense minister, Yoav Gallant, visited troops on the Gaza border on Thursday.
He hinted that his troops may soon enter Gaza, saying: “You see Gaza now from a distance, you will soon see it from inside. The command will come.
“I am tasked with leading us to victory. We will be precise and forceful, and we will keep going until we fulfill our mission.”
As reported by The Guardian, Israeli officials feel they must invade Gaza despite international concerns that this could escalate tensions in the Middle East.
One security official said: “The strategy was to have a longer gap every time between the different conflicts, but it failed and it cannot happen anymore.“
“So the only conclusion is that we have to go in, we have to go in and clean it and to eliminate Hamas from the roots, not only militarily, but also economically, its administration. Everything should go away.
“That’s the idea now and we are getting prepared for that. It won’t be clear cut and it won’t be as short as we would like as Israelis. It will be a prolonged campaign. It will take time.”
